Using A Virtual Private Network
Using your iPad over a public Wi-Fi hotspot can be risky, allowing people to hack into your iPad and see what your doing. The way round his is by using a VPN, this will stop hackers been able to hack their way into your iPador watch what you are doing. You can purchase a VPN (just search VPN service in Google) so that everytime you connect your iPad to a public Wi-Fi hotspot it will establish a secure connection deemed to be un-hackable.
To set up a VPN simply:
- Tap Settings > General > Network

- Tap the Add VPN tab
- Enter your VPN server settings provided by your service providers, then tap save.

- A VPN icon will now appear in the status bar at the top of the iPad telling you that your connection is secure.
Now you will have a secure connection when you log onto a public Wi-Fi hotspot. Just be careful if you let your iPad go into sleep mode as this turns off the VPN and you will have to reconnect to your VPN server.
